Ultraviolet UV germicidal lamps and bulbs for sterilization, purification and disinfection

Tubular or “slimline” germicidal lamps are typically used in applications requiring high ultraviolet intensity for water sterilization, air purification in duct systems and food production disinfection. Ultraviolet lamps producing wavelengths shorter than 200nm produce ozone from oxygen in the air. These types of sterilization lamps are useful in water purification, as a deodorizer and as a cleaning agent. Use of ozone producing lamps is limited to applications in which ozone concentration does not exceed .05 parts per million to avoid exposing personnel to high concentrations of ozone.
