Exit signs and energy efficient LEDs
 By law, exit signs are required in all public buildings. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), there are over 100 million exit signs installed in the United States annually.
Most exit signs have Incandescent lamps which represent a high cost in terms of energy and maintenance. Two 20 or 25-watt lamps typically light these signs for total energy consumption of 40- to 50-watts. And, incandescent lamps last only 3,000 hours, requiring frequent changes for these units that are often in out of reach locations.

LEDs are ideal for illuminating exit signs as they use 96 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs and 80% less energy than compact fluorescents. Some manufacturers claim that their LEDs can last up to 570 years. As an added value, LEDs are guaranteed to maintain quality illumination throughout their long rated life.

The exit sign is 12.6” wide by 8” high and 1.7” in depth and can be mounted on wall or ceiling. The unit’s housing is thermoplastic – refer to your city/state requirements prior to ordering. Four AC/DC fed AA NiCD batteries power the backup system. Product warranty is listed at 5 years on housing and electronics with a 7 year pro rated warranty on the battery. This exit sign is tested and listed to UL 924 for damp location and meets or exceeds MFPA, NEC, and OSHA illumination standards.
