Medical endoscopes are used in gastroenterology (gastroscope, colonoscope, sigmoidosocpe), otolaryngology to visualize airways (bronchoscope, naropharyngoscope) and in various urological applications. A strong light source is required in all endoscopes and Bulbtronics supplies xenon lamps from several manufacturers. Call 1-800-654-8542, ask for Medical Sales to identifiy the correct lamp for your equipment.
Phototherapy and Photochemical lamps
Bilirubin lamps, blacklight and blacklight blue lamps are used to fluoresce proteins, for photosensitization and photochemical reactions. Phototherapy is used with jaundiced infants who have elevated levels of bilirubin. The bililights are blue fluorescent lamps that help break down bilirubin into components the body can get rid of. A blacklight blue (BLB) lamp is a blacklight designed with an integral dark blue filter that eliminates most visible light. BLB lamps are used for tests, inspections, examinations, and investigations in various fields. Many BL and BLB lamps have shape, structural and electrical characteristics similar to general fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps and use the same ballasts, glow starters and circuits. Bulbtronics sources blacklights and blacklight blue lamps from a wide variety of manufacturers including Bulbrite, Eiko, Feit, GE, Luminous, Osram Sylvania, Perkins Elmer, Philips, Spectronics, Ushio, UVP, and Voltarc.
