What sets us apart from other battery distributors is our huge selection of battery types and chemistries. For battery components and data on physical characteristics, reactivity and safety hazards, read the Material Safety Data Sheets.
Alkaline batteries are popular, multi-use premium batteries with high rate performance, and good shelf life. Alkaline batteries are used for multiple general purpose applications including palmtop computers, lighting, photographic equipment, toys, communication equipment, radio and television, tape recorders and instruments. Popular for high drain applications.
Lithium batteries have high energy density; excellent rate capability, excellent shelf life and a relatively flat discharge characteristic. Lithium batteries are general purpose batteries used in photographic and electronic applications requiring small, high power batteries like security transmitters, smoke alarms, computer peripherals, communications equipment, cameras, personal organizers, memory backup and lighting.
Lithium ion batteries are one of the fastest growing battery systems used where high-energy density and light weight is of prime importance. The lithium ion battery is more expensive than other systems. The user is urged to follow strict safety guidelines. Li-ion batteries are often used in notebook computers and cellular phones
High energy, power density, good storage life and discharge performance are characteristics of manganese dioxide batteries, major advantages over standard alkaline batteries. These batteries come in a variety of shapes, most commonly button cells and cylindrical. Manganese dioxide batteries are used most often for high discharge devices like digital cameras, portable power tools, CD players, etc.
The NiCd battery is used where long life, high discharge rate and economical price are important. NiCd batteries can operate in a wide variety of temperatures. Primary applications include two-way radios, biomedical equipment, professional video cameras and power tools
Nickel Metal Hydride batteries are rechargeable batteries with fast charge capability, high energy density and flat discharge characteristics. These batteries are most often used in portable computers, cellular phones, camcorders, and other portable consumer electronic devices.
The sealed lead acid battery is often used in larger power applications where weight is of little concern. Lead-acid batteries provide the greatest energy density (the amount of energy produced) per pound and have the longest life cycle. Applications include hospital equipment, wheelchairs, emergency lighting and UPS systems.
Silver oxide batteries are have a good shelf life and flat discharge characteristics. Silver oxides are used in applications requiring small, high capacity batteries. These include hearing aids, watches, photographic equipment and special electronics.
Zinc air batteries have the highest energy density on continuous discharge, an excellent shelf life when not activated, and a limited shelf life when activated. Zinc air batteries are most often used in hearing aids, medical monitoring instruments, pagers, and other frequent-use applications.
